In late Spring 2023, several hundred members of the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) and their families will converge on Flagstaff for the annual MRA Spring Conference. The MRA is an elite group of highly-trained search and rescue teams. Of the 1,200 search and rescue teams across the US and Canada, only 83 are accredited MRA Regular and Associate teams. Coconino Country Sheriff's Search and Rescue
(CCSOSAR) is one of these elite units.

Each year, different MRA teams host the conference; CCSOSAR will host the 2023 MRA Spring Conference at Fort Tuthill. This annual conference is North America's premier gathering for search and rescue education. MRA members will discuss the latest rescue research, techniques, and rescue equipment while vendors will have the opportunity to present and display their products and services. Lodging, camping, food, and activities for families will be available throughout Flagstaff and the surrounding county.

CCSOSAR is responsible for search, rescue, recovery, and other missions across Coconino County's 18,600 square miles, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2021, our team of 130 volunteers conducted over 150 missions to help those who are in need of our services, for which there is no charge.

Now, the Flagstaff community has an opportunity to showcase our hospitality and our beautiful mountain town. Your active support will ensure the Spring Conference's success for its members and our community.  Contact Sergeant Aaron Dick, SAR Coordinator - Coconino County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, PO Box 3461, Flagstaff, AZ 86003 (
