Coconino County Search and Rescue Flagstaff Unit, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization and is eligible to accept fully tax deductible donations.

Each member of Search and Rescue must supply ALL their own personal equipment, including back packs, clothing (including uniforms), personal safety gear, personal technical rescue equipment, etc. The Sheriff's Office supplies transportation, team technical rescue gear, and basic training. Some training's (for examples, Wilderness First Aid Training) must be paid for by members.

The SAR Flagstaff Unit uses funds raised through donations, member's dues and grants to supplement training expenses, purchase team gear, produce PSAR materials and, when deemed necessary, to supplement purchasing for Sheriff's Office expenses that directly benefit Search and Rescue.

Any donations received by SAR Flagstaff Unit go into a general fund controlled by the Units Board of Directors, all made up of active members of the unit.

Projects for which we are currently seeking donations includes:

  • $800,000 to finish the final phases of the new Search and Rescue Building and Training Center. The funds would go towards paving the parking area, building a high angle training tower, finishing interior office and training space, and completing the mezzanine.
  • Replace our aging Snowcat
  • Acquire and equip a dedicated technical rescue response vehicle.
