Coconino County Search and Rescue Flagstaff Unit, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization and is eligible to accept fully tax deductible donations. Each member of Search and Rescue must supply ALL their own personal equipment, including back packs, clothing (including uniforms), personal safety gear, personal technical rescue equipment, etc. The Sheriff's Office supplies transportation, team technical rescue gear, and basic training. Some training's (for examples, Wilderness First Aid Training) must be paid for by members. The SAR Flagstaff Unit uses funds raised through donations, member's dues and grants to supplement training expenses, purchase team gear, produce PSAR materials and, when deemed necessary, to supplement purchasing for Sheriff's Office expenses that directly benefit Search and Rescue. Any donations received by SAR Flagstaff Unit go into a general fund controlled by the Units Board of Directors, all made up of active members of the unit. Please note that donations made out the the Coconino County Sheriff's Office cannot be deposited by the Unit and must be given to the Sheriff's Office. If desired, we will display your name or company logo as a donor. Some of our donor's include: 2010 - Flagstaff Community Foundation donated $7,500.00 towards the purchase of a set of Mattrax for a unit Polaris Ranger. The Mattrax replace the wheels on a vehicle increasing its deployability during winter weather missions. Thank you, Flagstaff Community Foundation, for your generous donation.
